- The formulas are public. The methodology page lists every calculation, our rounding rules, assumptions, limitations, and sources.
- The math starts from APY, which already includes compounding. Applying a nominal-rate compounding formula directly to an APY would double-count compounding and overstate the estimated earnings.
- You can check our work. Every calculator has a "show the math" panel that plugs your own numbers into the formula, step by step.
